(When combined with Wheat) |
Balanced, Rectified, God-Centered Expression: Giving because God's creatures are in need and He has assigned us the responsibility of being His agents in tending to those in need.
When Contaminated by Serpent (Ego) Consciousness: Giving as a form of exerting control and manipulation in order to get people to like you or make them beholden to you.
Pathological Expression: Narcissistic Personality Disorder where the expansiveness of Chesed gets hijacked by the ego and twisted into an overly generous self-image and an inflated sense of self-importance. (Narcissistic Personality Disorder is defined as a pervasive pattern of grandiosity (in fantasy or behavior), need for admiration, and lack of empathy.) |
